Yangon, In 1755, King Alaungpaya founded the small but
strategically placed town then known as Dagon, and
renamed it Yangon (meaning ? the end of strife?) till today.
The British annexed the city in 1851, changing its name
to Rangoon. Colonial buildings are matained for the tourist
attraction sites today. With its golden pagodas, Buddhist
monasteries, beautiful lakes, shady parks, fresh air, cheaper
the living cost and rich of natural resources, Yangon is still
being the beautiful land in Asia. |
